It seems to me that Michael Phelps has lost his passion for swimming; from what I've been watching at the Olympics he doesn't seem like the same Michael Phelps from four years ago. His time isn't good, and overall you can see that his heart isn't there anymore.
In the Beijing Olympics Michael Phelps had the energy in him, and you saw that he really was motivated, now it seems to me that he doesn't really care too much. You know sometimes we fall in love with something, and then we fall out of love with it. I guess it's almost like a marriage; you know when someone loves another person, but then realizes they're no longer in love so they now want a divorce. Well now, that's what it seems like to me when I watch Michael Phelps; he doesn't seem like he's really into it anymore.
I heard him say that this is his last Olympics, and he'll be retiring when it's over. I really hope that he can at least win a few gold medals before these London Olympics are over because I'm really rooting for Michael Phelps. He's an incredible athlete and he has the ability to regain his passion before the London Olympics are over. Congratulations to Ryan Lochte by the way for his win!
